Prof. Ugo bardi from INSTM, MEDEAS partner, participated in the “2019 Global Symposium On Ecological Law And Governance – Best Practices of Ecological Law and Governance” organised by the Ecological Law and Governance Association (ELGA) - a global network of experts from across disciplines that seek to connect and amplify the people, principles, and policies of ecological law and governance - at the University of Siena (Italy).
Prof Bardi disseminated some of the MEDEAS aims and results in the morning Session 3 of October 25, 2019, entitled “Best Practices in Local, Regional, and Global Programs and Policies in Ecological Law and Governance” with a talk entiled “MEDEAS project and the Club of Rome”. The main elements of the talk were dedicated to the MEDEAS work on determining the trajectories of curbing climate emissions necessary for Europe and for the rest of the world in order to respect the goals of the 2015 Paris agreement. The subsequent discussion highlighted the role of governance and laws in attaining these goals.
