Two researchers of MEDEAS team will participate in the Veolia Institute’s 10th International Conference, in partnership with the Oxford Martin School, on “Strategic Materials for a Low-Carbon Future: From Scarcity to Availability”, presenting their work carried out during MEDEAS project. The event will be held between November 2 and 3, at St. Catherine’s College, in Oxford, UK.
Prof. Aled Jones from ARU will discuss “Low carbon energy production: resource scarcities, surpluses and uncertainties” during topic 1 “What materials are key to a low-carbon future? Exploring the implications of the transition to a low-carbon economy on primary resource demand”.
Prof. Ugo Bardi will present “The paradox of extraction and energy consumption in a low-carbon transition” during topic 2 “Managing the impacts of extractive industries in a new low-carbon resource landscape. Will the extraction of primary resources fulfil rising demand?”.
